Football, house renovations, China and more!

So I guess we're getting in an average every 3-month update type of thing... I guess we'll have to change that from now on won't we?!! Well, since June, there have been so many things going on in our lives that I don't know where to begin, so I'll start in July!

July was a crazy busy month for Matt & I... I travelled with work for 10 days in Las Vegas for Jayco's annual dealer meeting/convention. It was cool because I had never been to Vegas and we were right smack in the middle of the World Series of Poker at the Rio hotel, but it wasn't cool because 1. I didn't have my husband with me and 2. half the time I couldn't leave the hotel because my title was the "Oh-crap girl"... meaning if something went wrong, I had to figure out how to fix it! Matt & I had to spend a lot of time apart during July because of that, but while I was gone, he did a ton of projects around the house including painting our bedroom, bathroom and closet, installing a peep hole in the door for me among many other projects!

In August we decided we should remodel part of our house. We flipped the stairs... now you go down North instead of South! We also opened up our living room by knocking some walls down to half-size thus making the illusion that our living room is larger than it really is! By the end of the month, we also had crown molding and were ready to be done with construction for a while!

In September we took it a little more easy... Over Labor Day weekend we took a weekend trip to North Carolina to see the Gorsuch family! This was very much a lot of fun and Matt put his dad to work! Ralph was pretty darn exhausted by the time Matt was done with him and their house! Our puppy Charlie turned the big 1 and is still as cute as always... and I have officially trained/brain-washed him into being a Colts fan :) We got to go to my FIRST Notre Dame football game... which happened to be their WORST game thus far this season (yeah, it was the Michigan game...) I guess I am just a bad luck charm. But I had a lot of fun! The tailgate we went to prior to the game was fun, and we actually ran into the NEWLYWEDS Courtney & Troy Pflugner! We hadn't seen them since their wedding in June so that was very exciting to be able to hang out with them for a while!

Since the ND game, we've just been working hard around the house, Matt is getting the basement ready for finishing this winter and he's also been preparing a lot for hunting season, which began last Sunday... and I know you are almost as excited as I am! Matt is also attending membership baptism classes at Clinton Frame and is planning on being baptized on Oct. 22 at the Sunday morning service! This is very exciting for both of us... he has been wanting to do this for a while and now he can!

On Oct. 23 we are leaving the country for 1 1/2 weeks to travel to China with the annual Jayco dealer trip and we are sooooo excited for a break from work and time to travel and be together! We will definitely have lots of photos and stories to share in our next update.

BY THE WAY: just last night (10-12) Matt shot an 8-point buck! Ask him about it :) He would love to tell you about it!

7 months already!

Holy cow... time really does fly. When I started writing this entry it was June 27, 2006. That means Matt & I have been married 7 months and I can't believe how quick it's gone! But the good thing is that we're loving every minute of it and it offers new challenges for us to face together :)

We've been so busy working around our house with about 100 projects going at once! (Ok maybe a few less but that's what it seems to be...) Matt has done awesome at totally reviving our almost-dead lawn and has made a ton of additions including a garden which is blooming to the brim! We had a fence put around the back yard (mainly for the dogs) and we have refurbished our front landscape to make it look as non-old-fart-ish as possible! We bought a wheel borrow, spreader and hall tree :) PHEW... it's getting there!

Besides all the house work, Matt and I have had the chance to go to North Carolina for Easter, Gatlinburg, TN for Memorial Day and random little weekend trips whether it be for a wedding or just to get away!

We both have a ton going on at work, I have our annual dealer meeting coming up which I am helping plan and will be gone for 10 days... Matt was in Cleveland for about 5 days being trained on a new robotic welder that he will be programming and training others on. It's been a very exciting time for us! We've had a lot of changes and challenges in our lives so far and we've been able to talk and work through them rather gracefully!

This is our first blog that we are mass emailing out! I am realizing more and more how much we are losing touch with friends that we don't get to see everyday! Hope this all finds you well!

Spring is here!

Yes, spring is in the air! It's getting warmer, I'm starting to clean house and Matt has already had a fire outside! It's an exciting time!

We've been traveling around, visiting friends and staying busy with work. We went to Indy in early March for supercross motorcycle racing… it was fun to see the guys flying through the air, doing tricks and just doing what they love! That weekend we got to get together with a lot of my college friends and I took Matt to Gander Mountain. Last weekend we took a trip to Chicago with Kim & Roger. We visited Bass Pro Shop, IKEA and some yummy restaurants. We had a great time!

Currently we are in the middle of trying to sell Matt’s truck… he decided that since mom & dad had a perfectly good Jeep just sitting at their lake house, he would take that burden off their hands and fulfill his dream of having a Jeep! He loves it! On a serious note, if you want a truck, call us! J

Our little puppy Charlie is as adorable as always. With us being gone, he’s had 2 trips to the puppy-sitter, Robin, who spoils him absolutely rotten! Since she’s had Mr. Charlie, she’s decided to get a little Charlie puppy! Our little Charlie keeps us occupied and entertained every day! We love him.

A quick update

Hi to whoever has found our blog!

A quick update on our lives... last week I (Amber) went to her first RV show as a Jayco rep and quickly learned how much I have to learn. Matt's birthday is coming up on Monday, Feb. 27. Today Matt & our brother-in-law Roger & nephew Ethan went to a boat show... Matt found a boat he'd like, maybe some day...

I took a stab at grooming our little Charlie pup, not bad for a first try! We miss Matt's family in NC and can't wait to see them in April... We're heading to Indy next weekend for a supercross race at the dome and to see a few long lost college friends of mine!

That's basically it for now... today is a relaxing day recooperating from the long work week and a time for home organization and more projects! If all goes well, Matt will have flood lights installed for our back yard!

Our crazy life

Does married life ever slow down? Between the wedding and today, Matt & I haven't had a break really.

We're been on the go since November - we had the wedding, Christmas around the U.S. & Caribbean, January brought Matt's classes, a funeral and a house full of family! February has been crazy with job moves (literally - moving offices) and added responsibilities. This month isn't over yet! ... we're hoping for a slow March.
