My hubby hasn't been feeling the love on the blog lately... so here is a BUNCH of lovin'!
First off... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all you fathers out there! I loved the way our church portrayed father's this year, yes there is the obvious father, but there's also male influences in childrens' lives, grandparents, mentors, etc. So to my hubby, thanks for being such a wonderful daddy to our little Cooper scooper! He loves you so much!
Ok, now on to his BIG tribute...
as some of you know my husband fishes...
ok not "fishes" in a normal sense, he bow-fishes...
...for carp... {gag!}
I call it hunting for fish...
Anywho, a couple weeks ago, my hubby took his boat and an afternoon after work to visit his good friend, Shipshewana lake. He called on the way home sounding a little bummed that he didn't shoot any carp, but he did say he got ONE fish and couldn't wait for me to see... so he drove in and I looked in the bucket and this is what I saw:

A GOLDFISH!!!
Let me explain to you bow-fishing rookies... a goldfish is a rarity in the bow-fishing sport. They are a special prize fish. {spoken like I know what I'm talking about eh? HAHA} I think the biggest one my hubby has every shot was maybe 2 or 3 pounds, and that was in Saginaw Bay at the annual Bow-Fishing Tourney. Not too shabby eh?
Here's the kicker... he doesn't look to big does he? Here is Matt holding her:

HOLY SMOKES this thing was HUGE {emphasis on the was - altho I swear it was still breathing}
She weighed in at a whopping 5.6 pounds! {right hun?!?}
I've declared this the Year of the Goldfish.

After talking with his dad and a few other folks, he concluded that this was obviously the catch of a lifetime and for father's day, he took it to the taxidermist {animal stuffer} to get this monster mounted.
I drew the line when he said he wanted to hang it above our bed. Not so much. Not happening. Ever.
Happy Father Day Matt! I hope you feel the love, even if I'm 3 days late :)
